Absolute 7 won't drop until confusingly Steinberg come out with HALion 8. I look for that in 12-18 months but that's just a guess or maybe longer. Steinberg has very long product cycles relative to other companiesSeparately, any idea when Absolute 7 might be expected? If I grab Absolute 6, I may hold off registering until the new version drops if A7 isn't likely to be too far away. And I still have until Oct 9th to use the loyalty voucher, so plenty of time to mull things over.
I think they will wait until Apple and Microsoft really come out with MIDI 2.0 support native to both Windows and Mac that will be at some point in 2025. Then I think we will see a new HALion, new controllers, and an update to Cubase to make everything play nicely with Midi 2
So don't look for anything until late 2025 or early 2026
