As I said, marketing schtick aside, there is no doubt that Avenger is an incredible product by any standard.
Fully agreed. Marketing and sales techniques (no demo) are debatable.
The quality of the product is not....
To be honest the marketing kind of put me off it for a while. It's all a bit cheesy.

Sometimes I wondered if it was tongue in cheek.

Once the dust settled after release I dug into it to form my own opinions and it's a phenomenal synth.

I do feel, while the quality of the presets is very good, that it's kind of stuck in a very particular genre/era. A lot of old school techno and trance sounds.

Somebody above referred to "modern" sounding presets. I don't feel like they are. Late 90s early 2000s vibes. Again, nothing wrong with that if that's your thing and it's still top quality

That's not to say that Avenger cannot sound bleeding edge. It's more than capable of that.

It's great for neuro, color bass with the spectral oscillator and anything else really.
Somehow, I have kind of the same feeling.

But I think it is changing. The lead "artistic lead", Manuel, has a strong strong background in 90s Electro for which he is extremely talented, and it shows.

That being said I think he listened to feedbacks and the latests extensions are much more modern sounding, like cyberpunk 2 or dark for example. Also Avenger now goes very successfully into modern melodic techno (anyma) style extensions.

But as you said, I see Avenger less present in the "neuro, dubstep" area.

I think this is due to the workflow. These sounds use more effects than oscillators modifiers and as such, I think a synth like phase plant makes it slightly easier (or immediate) to do... I am not saying that the effects of Avenger are not awesome, they are, they are just less "front and center" compare to phase plant or Current for example.
