This makes sense and I prefer buying stuff from the manufacturer directly. That being said, 9 out of 10 times you can get a better price through distributors and often even get some free other thing on top. Myth right now is available for 75 bucks again from jrrshop. If you get the full revenue when we buy through the official site (which I guess is tracktion.com?) can you eli5 how they still can offer it cheaper?Hey there! Wanna know an even better trick?
When you buy directly from the manufacturer instead of a distributor, you're actually supporting the people who create the plugins you love in a much more impactful way. Distributors often take a significant portion of the revenue, which leaves much less for us to invest back into developing and improving our products.
The thing is, the value distributors add is often minimal! If you ever spot a better deal through a distributor, feel free to reach out to the manufacturer directly. Nine times out of ten, they'll be happy to match (or even beat!) that deal. Plus, you can rest easy knowing your support goes straight to the folks crafting the tools you enjoy.
Thanks for supporting indie plugin makers like us!
I also genuinely believe you would match the price if asked, but (and that's a me problem) my mentality often keeps me from doing that because I perceive it as 'begging for alms'
