Filters sound really nice. Decent overdrive options, nice variety. I haven't explored much beyond the standard BP/LP/HP but they sound clean and musical.What are the filters like? I think Dune tends to win in that respect.
I think the only place where it falls down a bit is in terms of FX. They are usable but not the best- although the filterbank thing is cool. Whether this matters is hard to say, I have way too many external FX as it is so not a huge loss. But compared to say Avenger- which I think SM3 can compete with on most fronts- wins this part of the contest with ease.
I'm also struggling to imagine many times I'll need 16 layers but I guess hosting multi sampled instruments is a possibility.
